Who we are

Booked and Bound Travel was born from a lifelong love of books and a deep belief that stories change the way we see the world.

Long before I studied geography and tourism at Brigham Young University, I was reading novels and memoirs that carried me across oceans and into unfamiliar cultures. Book clubs introduced me to places I had never visited — Irish streets, French villages, windswept plains, resistance networks in Europe — and sparked a growing wanderlust. Through literature, I learned that landscapes hold memory, and that culture is inseparable from place.

My academic training in geography and tourism gave language and structure to what I had already felt intuitively: travel is most meaningful when it is rooted in context. I studied how heritage is interpreted, how landscapes shape human experience, and how thoughtful tourism can deepen understanding rather than skim the surface.

Traveling with my family and sisters has reinforced this belief. Some of my most meaningful experiences have come not from checking off landmarks, but from lingering in small towns, walking historic streets, talking with locals, and seeing how stories live on in real communities.

Booked & Bound Travel brings these threads together — scholarship, story, and lived experience. Each literary journey is carefully researched and thoughtfully designed to connect powerful books with the geographies that shaped them. These itineraries are created for readers who want to travel not just widely, but wisely — with curiosity, humility, and depth.
